So reads the agenda.

The board room was fairly full due to numerous presentations.

The meeting was called to order at 5:29  by Board President A.W. Bolt.  All Board members were present except for Mr. Cooper, who came in at 5:42.

Among those in attendance were Mr. Hulin, Mr. Shaw, Mrs. Barber, Mr. Dodson, Mr. Gaston, and numerous HCS employees.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by students from Shades Mountain Elementary.  No invocation or moment of silence listed on the agenda.  More on this in the Moment of Silence thread.

After the Pledge, the 3rd Grade Enrichment Class from Greystone Elementary School gave a presentation of a children's story.  Musical instruments accompanied the story.  The moral of the story was "No matter what you step in, keep walking along and singing your song".

Next on the agenda was Recognition.    Although not listed on the agenda, the Sparkle Award was given out tonight to the custodial staff of Spain Park High School.

Action items were next and went without comment except for the Wide Area Network bid, where some in the audience asked some questions regarding the bid.  All Action items were approved by the Board.

Nobody spoke during Public Participation.

Information Reports covered the proposed 2011-2012 Schedule, which will begin later than previous years.  The proposed schedule will be posted on the HCS web site for public comment.

The next Board meetings, although listed as being on Monday, February 14, 2011, will be re-scheduled to a different date.

The Board went into Executive Session at 6:12 pm and adjourned shortly after 7 pm.

Please feel free to add any comments/statements to this that I may have missed.  To the Board or members of the public that spoke, please feel free to add your own comments if I erroneously took any of your statements out of context.
