Excuse me? Yes, HHS has been through some very dramatic events, most magnified and slung around the forums both here and at al.com by "concerned" parents and community members.
The city of Hoover should be proud of HHS. Through 6 principals and countless other distractions, HHS has managed to maintain excellent academics, fantastic extracurricular and sports programs besides football, superior academic academies, teams, and both AP and IB programs. Teaching at a place like HHS is an honor. However, the reaction of the community to events that have unfolded this summer and the way that instead of being supportive, people want to say how ashamed they are of HHS is what makes being a part of HHS shameful. Instead of being negative about all of HHS, rally behind Hoover and help everyone move past these events. The investigation will complete its duty and HHS will continue to serve its students and community. Instead of saying how ashamed teachers at HHS should be, be proactive and help bring back the true HHS.
I will be proactive.
I am hoping my vote will count. As an Employee of this beloved school system, I myself am embarrassed.
We have to join together.
