Walktall, You are exactly right about the BOE's motivation. They slipped Pointer on the agenda for tonight (without any notice whatsoever) and assumed that most people would not show up tonight, but Monday when it would be more logical for Pointer to make a report. What a shock for the board. It wasn't standing room only, but there were very few empty seats. BOE asked no questions of Pointer and didn't even raise their eyebrows when he said it would probably end up costing in excess of $80,000 before he and his staff finish interviews and review of documents. He confirmed clearly that the BOE is his client and that he is operating under an attorney- client privilege. Close to $50,000 has been incurred through the end of July and Propst has not even been interviewed yet. Let's start asking for financials people. We, as the public, have the right to ask and see every single document, email, memo, letter,note,etc.., dealing with these financial issues. It will be up to us to put the state agencies and SACS on notice of financial wrongdoings. Pointer cannot turn in his client for that. It will be up to us to seek an accounting of how our tax dollars and donor money has been spent.
