[HOOVER HIGH SCHOOL: Incompetence, jealousy at work

Thirty years of my career in education were spent in Hoover schools as a teacher, elementary school principal, high school principal and director of planning for the new Hoover school system. I feel qualified to express anger and sadness that this outstanding system is being controlled finally by politicians rather than by educators.

The jealousy factor behind all the happenings here has become a destructive element that undermines Hoover schools' operation. Qualified administrators deal with diagnosed jealousy in-house, never in a public forum.

The success and national attention earned by Hoover High School's football program are subject to slander by those who feel threatened by success. Mediocrity becomes a standard. I do not know coach Rush Propst personally, but his personal life has never seemed the problem in years past.

Hiring an outside noneducator to publicly investigate the nonrenewal of a principal and the personal life of a coach has caused the Hoover school system to bear the jokes of wags. Jealousy and administrative incompetence have disgraced a wonderful school system. Retirement is relief.

Jo Ann H. Pritchett

I remember her from Berry HS and while she may not know Rush she sure has his jealousy speech down pat.  His personal life has not been a problem because the inner circle has been successful at keeping it under the rug.

This editorial perfectly illustrates the old saying "birds of a feather."  I guess I just didn't remeber to drink my rushaid this morning because I don't see how the situation we are in was caused by people who are just "threatened by" Hoover's success in football.

Sure, a winning record is something to aspire to, but jealousy has not caused any of our problems in Hoover like the birds want everyone to believe.

Nice that you were raising your voice at us, I love the bold.  Yea, I'm totally jealous of Hoover.  I really want to be coached by some idiot who's working with two ladies and like 6+ kids.  I cry to myself sometimes at night because I feel "threatened" by Hoover's sucess at football...you know....because football is everything in my life.

By the way, this is definitely a little birdy.  A little birdy who spends 7 hours a day in a prison of conformity.  This little birdy tries to whistle, but is afraid to do so because a big, bad, cat will beat the hell out of him if he does.  So, because this little birdy has tried to convey his ideas in his prison and noone listens, he posts on a forum site where he argues with the cats.

Too many metaphors?  Too bad.

I know you are fairly new and I've read your posts, which are somewhat insightful.  However, before you throw your cocky attitude my way why don't you take the time and read more carefully.  My response was in bold not because I was raising my voice, but to distinguish the response from the post that I was quoting.  Let me clarify a few things, not drinking my rushaid means that I don't subscribe to his agenda or his behavior and will not be lulled to sleep by his doublespeak.  My "birds of a feather" reference refers to that fact the the writer of the quote, Pritchett, is much like Rush and probably runs in the same circles.  I don't think anyone is "threatened" by the football teams success and to say so is ludacris.  Lastly, "the birds" refers to the birds of a feather like Rush and his suppoters that want us to drink from the fountain of success that he so eloquently pours with his foul mouth and immoral behavior.

I do appreciate your stance and the fact that you are here, but please don't go on the sarcasm attack if you are not sure the nature of what someone has posted.

You're right, I am cocky as hell.  I'm sorry that I misinterpreted what your post meant, it is very easy to do that online as you cannot hear the tone of the voice of the person.  Please accept my humblest of appoligies (sp? Wink.  I interpreted that you were calling us birds lol.  The "like the birds want everyon believe" seemed to me like it meant you were calling us birds.

Lament,
Protect your identity brave man.  Do not answer Bucsfan question.

Typical let someone else do his talking.  What high school he is from will tell his motive.

I happen to know radar49 off the forum.  You shoulda listened to them before you get me going.  I'm cocky, remember?

If you were an intelligent being 'twould be a simple matter of adding 4 and 3 together to find where I go to school.  I'm waiting for you to cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war.  I might give you a tip mate, sexual predators have more tact than you, and yes, I've had many of them try to figure out my identity and where I live and such.  I'm no stranger to the internet.  Posting where I go to school would not also be a threat to me because of you knowing, but because of whoever felt like reading this forum could know where I go to school.

I'm going to share something else (as I have already hinted at in my many posts), I am not stupid.  Yes I know, comes as a shock, dosen't it?  People have tried much harder to figure out who I am.  I'm a regular on about 6 forum sites.  What does it matter if I'm a 'Parkie' or a Buc.  Hell, I'll just say I go to ASFA and watch you run with it.  Thanks for the support dudes.

And think, I just posted like 1,000+ characters over something so simple.

By the way, I did call up radar49.

Naw, radar49 called me up. Wink

Naw, we really didn't call.

What about the students?  Who cares about them?  It doesn't seem like anyone right now. cry  I mean come on.  Its the students that go to school with this, that have to deal with this every day.  Its the BOE's decisions that affect the students.

Its not all about football.

It should be about the students for once.
