Nobody cares but Hoover?

I am a little disturbed by the fact that the city council APPOINTS the school board, but our mayor says the city shouldn't be INVOLVED in what the school board does. If the BOE is not accountable to the city who are they accountable to? And if USA today is carrying the story, obviously it has gotten bigger than just Hoover!

He is just trying to smooth it over...either that or he is in denial. What about the allegations in the letter of Ivey meeting with RP. Isn't that 'involved'?

I was disturbed by this as well, peace, but then after I calmed down I realized that this is just another good reason to have an elected board. There has to be accountability to someone. Or as Hunter points out on another thread, "you're gonna have to serve SOMEBODY."

From the USA Today story . . .

" . . .Pointer also said in the July 20 report that the lawyers working on the case have conducted 20 interviews, but had not interviewed Propst. Bill Veitch, a school board member, told the newspaper he thinks the investigation will clear the school. "I don't think anybody has done anything wrong," Veitch said.

Has Bill been on a 3 year cruise ?
