How do we get back on track placing educating and doing what's best for our children at the top of the list?    
 
In 5500 characters or less, give your best take on how we get this school system back on track.  What needs to happen?  To whom?  In what time frame?  Should the report be public?  What role do the Boosters play?  Should the BoE act on its own?  Involve the community?  Should we have an elected BoE?  Should we clean house in the CC?  Should RP be fired?  Should MTV be thanked or reviled? Where do athletic/extracurricular activities fit in all of this?  How should BoE members dress themselves?  Should there be term limits on BoE members?  Should the tenure law be abandoned?  Should students have electronic textbooks (sorry, I couldn't help myself---my children's backs are already hurting thinking about the new school year in HCS)?  Should the forums be more or less serious?  Should we all be willing to post under our real names to begin the real dialogue of healing this community?    
 
Start thinking.  You can include none, some, or all of the points above in your essay.  The max for a posting is 5500 characters.  
 
There have been a number of extremely thoughtful and thought-provoking posts on this forum.  Kudos to all who participate.
 
We'll see if we can raise some money for the best essay.......
 
I think we should also submit them all to the newspaper in the Speak Out section.....
