I am not making an accusation, but I do wonder where that money went.
I have also been told that the company that was kicked out of HHS had always helped with scholarships, donated rings, and helped fund many projects for the school over the years, but I guess they didn't grease palms or have the right "connections." It still amazes me that a football coach can have such an influence on a school. Shouldn't the principal have ultimate authority in a school?
I did not mean to get off on a tangent, hopefully this will not drastically affect RB and his family. Now he has experienced what the people he fired experienced, it is just sad that it had to be drawn out in public the way it was.
Perhaps you could PM me the name of the old company and the name of the new company. Or you could just post them here, it doesn't matter. Whichever route you chose, rest assured that some investigative reporting will be done and the results will be reported back here.
I will save you some time. The previous company was Campus Recognition/Jostens. The family that owns it live in Hoover and their kids went to HHS. Very well liked and HHS had a scholarship named in memory of the father that suddenly passed away in 2000. I know several kids that received other scholarships from the family through HHS.
New company is Balfour. The owner is on the Park and Recs Board and has close ties to certain members of the booster club and went to school with Propst (that seems to be a common theme.)
I also understand as stated above that it was an unwelcomed change and that prices related to the change have gone up considerably. This subject was also on the al forum, but like most it was deleted.
